Data Collection

BookMark Navigator is designed with privacy in mind. We do not collect any personal information, browsing history, or user behavior data. The extension operates entirely offline and locally.

Permissions Used

The extension requires the following permissions to function:

Bookmarks: Read-only access to display and search your browser bookmarks. We do not modify, delete, or export your bookmarks.
Storage: Local storage for bookmark visit statistics (frequency and last visit time) and search index cache. This data is stored locally in your browser using Chrome's storage API.
Tabs: Used solely to open bookmarks in new tabs when you click on search results.

Local Data Storage

The extension stores the following data locally in your browser:

Visit count and last visit time for each bookmark (used for "frequently visited" sorting)
Cached pinyin index for faster Chinese character search

This data is stored using Chrome's sync storage API and is only accessible by this extension. It syncs across your Chrome browsers if you are signed in, but is never transmitted to any third-party servers.

Passwords or authentication data
Location data
Financial information
Any website content

Third-Party Services

BookMark Navigator does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The extension does not make any network requests except for loading favicon images from Google's favicon service to display website icons.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or transfer any user data to third parties. Since we don't collect any data, there is nothing to share.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date.
